MDA Forum 2007 is the second Italian
event on Model Driven Architecture
(MDA® ).
The event is organized by Soluta.net
in collaboration with the Object Management
Group (OMG), it intends to promote and disseminate MDA® with a tutorial, several speeches given by world wide experts in the
subject, real Italian case histories about industrial projects where MDA
has been applied and an exposition area for tool vendor and consultancy companies.
MDA® provides an open, vendor-neutral approach to the challenge of the continuous
technical and business changes, it is a step along the software engineering
evolution that leverage the strict and formal separation between functional models
(what the system has to do) and the technical models (how to use technology to deliver
what is expected).
Based on OMG's proven open standards, the MDA® approach separates the business logic
from the underlying technological platform. It is a software development process
that helps companies and organization to deliver complex projects, either medium
or large, reducing development costs and especially maintenance costs, allowing
to quickly incorporate technological and functional changes. MDA® also enable organizations
to create assets from investments because it allows the continuous and transparent
reuse of analysis and code. MDA® is based on OMG's proven open standards, from which
it is possible to readily generate executable applications, virtually in every platform,
either open or proprietary, included but not limited to a Web-Services, .NET®, CORBA®,
Enterprise JavaBeans™, C, C++ a Java™.
About the
Event:
MDA® is partially a standard and a development approach, it is a new mind-set and
as such it requires expertice and experience, real case studies, that comprises
use of tools, application of adequate processes and know-how.
"There is nothing difficult. There are only NEW things, unaccostumed things"
(Carlos Salzedo, 1918, Harpist)
With these objectives MDA Forum 2007 in collaboration with the OMG®, the first in
Italy, intend to promote this approach in a pragmatic way, close the the industries
that develop IT systems for supporting theis business or to realize Commercial Off-The-Shelf
products (either software or hardware).
This is a single day event: the morning session include a tutorial and a couple
of speeches given by internally well known experts that will put MDA in the context
of classical software engineering practises describing the strength and weaknesses.
The event will discover the strategies beyond OMG®, the development and evolution
plan of MDA.
In the afternoon session real case studies of MDA® project applied in Italy will
be described. Project domain areas will span
from business like banking, embedded sistem, and the facility management
highlighting strengthness and weaknesses. International key player working in Italy
will attend.
